06 Apr Is open plan living evolving?
Over the past decades, families have sought to change their home layout to incorporate open plan living to suit their lifestyle – whether it is for young families or entertaining, large open spaces have been in high demand. However we have noticed an increase in residential projects seeking to zone off spaces without reinstating permanent walls.
Room dividers are gaining popularity as more people seek flexible, multifunctional living spaces. The rise of multi-generational families, older children returning home from university and an increase in working from home has meant families re-thinking the best use of their space.
Dividers (or screens) offer an easy way to create privacy or define distinct areas without permanent walls. They also serve as stylish design elements using timeless materials such as wood and glass which can enhance a room’s aesthetic while improving functionality. The below image shows a recently completed installation in our client’s home ensuring privacy for home working whilst ensuring light floods the space.
